Living a healthier lifestyle is essential for our patients. This involves developing your own balance of smart eating, a positive attitude and physical activity. Improvement in health results in enhanced self-esteem and vitality.

Exercise is an important component of our weight loss programs and is essential for weight maintenance. All kinds of exercise are valuable. It is important to start slowly especially if you have been inactive for a while. This will help your body and mind ease into the habit of being more active.

Everyone can and should do some form of exercise. We recommend weight lifting for those in their 20's, cardio for those in their 40's, and both for those in their 30's and for everyone over 40. For those who cannot walk, resistance bands or water exercises are recommended.

The goal is to have all our patients doing some form of physical activity 30 minutes a day, 5 or more times per week.  Making exercise part of the daily routine is difficult at first. However, medical studies have shown that with perserverance, you will feel envigorated and exercise will automatically become part of your routine.
